Residents of Ingersoll: it\u2019s time to ask the tough questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last year, on July 9, 2024, one of our Stand4Oxford team members, delivered a delegation to Norwich council<\/a> (timestamp 2:33:40), raising concerns about municipal spending on DEI initiatives\u2014consultants, training programs, and policies that often come with big price tags but unclear results. Now, the focus turns to Ingersoll. The town\u2019s DEI agenda will be discussed at council on Monday, November 10, 2025, and residents should be paying attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Council\u2019s agenda includes several DEI reports and recommendations, including a multi-year strategy from CultureAlly. These documents lay out programs, goals, and timelines\u2014but the big question remains: how much of our tax dollars are being spent, and are these programs actually working?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Here\u2019s what\u2019s on the table:<\/p>\n\n\n\n But here\u2019s something to think about: research shows that DEI programs\u2014especially mandatory training\u2014can sometimes increase division and tension instead of solving it. A 2024 study<\/a> by Network Contagion found that participants often perceive racism where it doesn\u2019t exist and feel more animosity toward one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So residents, ask yourself: is this taxpayer money being spent wisely<\/strong>? Are the programs achieving real inclusion, or just generating reports and meetings while our wallets take the hit?<\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s time to demand transparency, accountability, and results.
