Oxford, Let’s Fill the Room This Wednesday

We’re now just days away from the December 10 Oxford County budget meeting. With key decisions about transparency, services, and spending on the table, this is one of the most consequential meetings of the year.

Stand4Oxford has collected 1,300 petition signatures calling for clearer reporting and responsible governance. It’s a strong show of community concern — and Wednesday’s meeting is where that concern becomes visible to Council.

Here are the meeting details:
📅 Wednesday, December 10
🕤 9:30 AM
📍 Oxford County Administration Building, 21 Reeve Street, Woodstock

We are pleased to share that a valued member of our team will be presenting the petition directly to Council during the meeting. This delegation underscores how seriously residents are taking the County’s reporting practices, fiscal transparency, and accountability commitments.

If you plan to attend, please remember that Council meetings have strict rules: no interruptions, reactions, or outbursts. A quiet, respectful presence is not only expected — it’s effective. Councillors take note when residents fill the chamber and demonstrate genuine civic engagement.

Bring a neighbour, a friend, or anyone who cares about good governance. A strong turnout helps keep transparency and responsible leadership at the forefront of the Council’s decision-making.

Thank you for staying engaged, speaking up, and showing up when it counts.
We’ll see you Wednesday.

I feel as a resident of woodstock that more housing needed now for homeless and ppl with addictions. The city has empty buildings that could house homeless people…it’s disgusting to see there should be state of emergency regarding the amount of homeless people here…

Thank you for raising this concern. We agree that homelessness and addiction are serious issues that need practical, immediate solutions. Repurposing vacant buildings and supporting local initiatives could make a real difference for people in need.
