Oxford County Is Writing the Playbook for Future Growth — Will Your Voice Be Part of It?

Oxford County is preparing a new Official Plan — the document that will guide how land is used and how our communities grow for decades to come. Future councils will look to this plan when making decisions about housing, businesses, infrastructure, farmland, natural heritage, and development across all eight local municipalities.

In short, this isn’t just another policy document. It’s the foundation for many of the decisions that will shape Oxford County’s future.

The public workshops may be over, but residents still have an opportunity to influence the process. The County’s online survey remains open until August 31, 2026.

As you complete the survey, don’t feel confined to the multiple-choice answers. If your views aren’t fully reflected, choose “Other” and use the comment boxes to explain your perspective. Those written comments are your opportunity to raise concerns, suggest alternatives, and ensure your priorities become part of the public record.

Whether your priority is protecting farmland, preserving rural character, supporting responsible growth, improving infrastructure, or something else entirely, now is the time to speak up — not after the plan is finalized.

Stand4Oxford believes good local government starts with informed and engaged citizens. Decisions that shape our communities shouldn’t be made for residents without hearing from residents.

Take a few minutes to complete the survey and make your voice count.
