Oxford County is preparing a new Official Plan — the document that will guide how land is used and how our communities grow for decades to come. Future councils will look to this plan when making decisions about housing, businesses, infrastructure, farmland, natural heritage, and development across all eight local municipalities. In short, this isn’t…
Some of the most important changes in government happen quietly — through legislation that reshapes how decisions are made. Bill 100, which is now law in Ontario, changes how some regional governments are structured. Among other changes, it gives the Province authority over the appointment of certain regional chairs and expands the powers those chairs…
Every major government investment represents a choice. When significant public resources are committed to new infrastructure, residents deserve to understand not only what’s being built, but why it’s been chosen as a priority — and what long-term implications may come with it. Across Canada, governments are investing heavily in expanding fibre-optic networks and improving digital…
One of the most encouraging moments in any grassroots movement is realizing that a conversation has reached beyond your own community. The survey covers municipal services such as roads, emergency services, recreation, waste management, water, and long-term care, and helps shape priorities for the year ahead. A…

They need people who care about where they live. Most residents won’t run for council, sit on a committee, or hold public office. That’s completely fine…
